Want to root your Evo? Nervous about the steps involved? Thankfully, the guys over at xda-developers understand your concern, and have released “Simple Root .1″, a 3-click solution to rooting your HTC Evo. On top of rooting your device, the program also unlocks your NAND and flashes a custom recovery program onto the phone.
The full details can be viewed over at the xda-developers thread. On the page, you will find all the necessary downloads, along with video instructions on what to do and how to use the application. It should be noted that the application is quite large in file size… about 340mb. The reason for this is that it isn’t just the application itself that you will be downloading, but all the necessary *.img files as well.
